Welcome To ChemAnalyst
ACG Metals has achieved a major milestone at its Gediktepe operation in Türkiye, producing its first copper concentrate on August 31, 2026. The development marks the company’s transition from a project developer into a copper producer and represents a significant step forward in its growth strategy.
The first concentrate production follows the successful commissioning of the Gediktepe processing operation, which is progressing according to plan. With initial production now achieved, the company has entered the ramp-up phase, during which it will focus on steadily increasing processing throughput, improving plant performance and optimising metal recovery rates.
ACG Metals said its immediate priority is to establish stable and efficient operations while maintaining consistent concentrate quality. The company expects to continue ramping up production throughout the remainder of 2026, with the objective of reaching full production by the end of the year.
Artem Volynets, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of ACG Metals, described the first copper concentrate production as a defining milestone for the company. He highlighted the successful execution of the commissioning process, noting that the milestone was achieved safely and within the planned budget.
According to Volynets, the next stage will centre on a disciplined ramp-up, with the company progressively increasing throughput and recovery rates. ACG Metals will also work to maintain reliable plant operations and deliver consistent-quality copper concentrate as Gediktepe moves toward steady-state production.
The Gediktepe operation is strategically important for ACG Metals because it establishes a new source of copper concentrate and provides the company with an operating platform in the copper market. Successful ramp-up could allow ACG to increase its copper output and strengthen its position as a producer.
The company is expected to provide further updates as commissioning activities continue and production volumes increase. Reaching full production by the end of 2026 will depend on the plant achieving targeted throughput, recoveries and operational stability during the ramp-up period.
ACG Metals also stated that the announcement constituted inside information under the EU Market Abuse Regulation, as incorporated into UK domestic law. Following publication through a Regulatory Information Service, the information entered the public domain.
Impact on the Product and Chemical Commodity Prices
ACG Metals’ first copper concentrate production at Gediktepe is expected to increase copper supply as the operation ramps up toward full production by year-end 2026. Higher concentrate availability could provide modest relief to global copper supply tightness, potentially limiting upward price pressure if ramp-up proceeds smoothly. However, the initial impact is likely to remain limited because production will build progressively. For chemical commodities tracked by ChemAnalyst, the move could indirectly affect copper-dependent sectors, including copper chemicals and certain catalysts, through improved raw-material availability. Increased copper supply may moderate input costs, although broader copper prices will remain influenced by global demand, mine disruptions, inventories and smelter treatment charges.
