China's MIIT recognized AIKO's Zhuhai Dangan Island 3.5MW zero-carbon PV project as a National Smart PV Typical Case, cutting 3,000+ tons of CO2 annually.

The AIKO Zhuhai Dangan Island project has been recognized as a "National Smart PV Typical Case" by China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and the Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development. This selection highlights the project's advanced technical capabilities and its contributions to green development. The project previously received recognition in an APEC Sustainable Energy Center (APSEC) report, further solidifying its national-level endorsement.

The Zhuhai Dangan Island Zero-Carbon Demonstration Project is a distributed photovoltaic (PV) power generation system with a capacity of 3.5 megawatts (MW). It generates approximately 3.8 million kilowatt-hours (kWh) of clean electricity annually. This innovative project integrates PV power generation with energy storage, smart microgrid technology, and intelligent energy management systems. AIKO supplied its high-efficiency All-back contact (ABC) modules for the project. These modules feature a unique full-back contact structure that enhances power generation and offers an aesthetically pleasing design.

The Dangan Island project provides a stable and reliable clean energy supply for the island's residents and operations. It significantly reduces the island's reliance on traditional energy sources, such as diesel generators. This shift leads to substantial environmental benefits, including an annual reduction of over 3,000 tons of carbon dioxide emissions. The project also improves local air quality and reduces noise pollution by minimizing the use of fossil fuel-based generation. AIKO designed the electricity infrastructure to achieve net-zero emissions for the entire island, combining it with a smart energy management cloud platform.

The recognition as a "National Smart PV Typical Case" positions the Dangan Island project as a benchmark for future smart PV development across China. It showcases AIKO's leadership in advanced PV technology and integrated energy solutions. The project's success aligns with China's national strategies for energy transformation, carbon peaking, and carbon neutrality goals. It serves as a model for sustainable development in island communities and promotes the wider adoption of smart energy systems, contributing to the global transition towards a carbon-free society.

Impact on chemical commodity prices ChemAnalyst-tracked

This is a policy/technology recognition, not a supply or demand shock for chemical feedstocks. Direct impact on polysilicon, EVA resin, or solar-grade glass prices is expected to be negligible in the short term, since it doesn't alter production volumes or capacity. However, it may reinforce medium-term sentiment supporting China's solar manufacturing chain, indirectly sustaining steady demand for PV-related chemicals like EVA, POE encapsulants, and silver paste as smart PV adoption scales nationally.
