The price of the Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) in the asian market witnessed a modest rise in mid-March. This increase in the POE price is majorly attributed to the increase in the contract selling price from the market participants due to manufacturing disruption and the depleting inventory levels among the end users. However the demand from the downstream market remains supportive to some extent and recent rise in the Ethylene price in Feb have impacted the POE production cost simultaneously.
POE prices in South Korea edged up marginally as of mid-week of March, supported by stable demand and rising feedstock costs. Ethylene prices climbed x.xx in Feb, adding to production expenses. However, a power outage at the Daesan Petrochemical Complex on February xx have majorly halted operations at LG Chem and Lotte Chemical, marking concerns about potential supply disruptions and financial losses in the billions of won.
