During the first half of April xxxx, Asian Polycarbonate (PC) prices stayed mostly flat with support from consistent production levels. The prices were burdened by weak demand and increasing pressure in inventories. As per market statistics, PC pricing was around USD xxxx/MT, as of the week ending April xx, stabilized from the start of the month citing minimal market volatility.
On the supply side, consistent operating rates from Chinese domestic PC manufacturers prompted ongoing high production. Even though Zhongsha Tianjin was shut down for maintenance, Cangzhou Dahuax;s restart made up for the difference, maintaining industry operating rates high. Weekly PC production routinely exceeded approx. xx,xxx tons, adding to a supply glut that capped any PC price upside.
