Avanti advances Sweetgrass project with plant relocation, accelerating development toward mid-2026 helium production amid rising North American demand and supply constraints.

Avanti Helium Corp. has reached a significant operational milestone in the development of its flagship Sweetgrass Helium Project located in Montana. The company has successfully advanced the initial payment installment required to initiate the final stages of plant preparation. This includes modifications, disassembly, and the eventual relocation of its helium processing facility to the project site. With this financial commitment now completed, Avanti has officially moved into a critical execution phase, signaling tangible progress toward production.

This step enables a series of essential activities to begin immediately. These include optimizing the processing plant to meet project-specific requirements, dismantling the facility for transport, and coordinating logistics for relocation. Together, these efforts represent a transition from late-stage planning into active development, bringing the Sweetgrass project closer to becoming fully operational.

The company continues to aim for its first helium production by mid-2026. This timeline positions Avanti strategically within a market that is currently experiencing tightening global helium supply and increasing demand within the United States. As a result, the Sweetgrass project is expected to play an important role in strengthening domestic helium availability.

The processing plant itself has a proven operational history, having been previously constructed and successfully used. Before relocation, it will undergo targeted upgrades to ensure it aligns with the specific needs of the Sweetgrass site. Once these modifications are complete, the plant will be transported to Montana, where it will be installed and commissioned for production.

Over the coming weeks, project activity is expected to accelerate significantly. Multiple workstreams will proceed simultaneously to maintain the targeted production schedule. These include completing plant upgrades, organizing transportation logistics, preparing the Montana site, constructing the facility foundation, and installing essential systems such as piping, compression units, and metering infrastructure. Final commissioning and startup preparations will follow as these tasks near completion.

At the same time, site development in Montana is set to begin. Avanti has arranged for construction crews and contractors to initiate groundwork as soon as conditions permit. Early activities will involve land grading, lease preparation, and civil engineering work. This will be followed by building installation, utility setup, and integration with existing well infrastructure. Final steps will include pipeline connections and facility integration to ensure seamless plant operation upon arrival.

This coordinated approach—where plant relocation and site preparation occur in parallel—is designed to reduce delays and minimize project risks. By aligning these efforts, Avanti aims to streamline the path to production and ensure that all components are ready for rapid commissioning.

According to CEO Chris Bakker, this milestone represents a major advancement for the company. He emphasized that initiating plant relocation and modifications marks a decisive move into execution, with all major components of the project now coming together. This progress reinforces Avanti’s confidence in achieving near-term helium production.

In the broader market context, the Sweetgrass project holds strategic importance. With global helium supplies constrained and U.S. demand rising across industries such as semiconductors, aerospace, healthcare, advanced manufacturing, and defense, the project is well-positioned to contribute a reliable domestic supply. Once operational, it is expected to become one of the few new helium production facilities entering the North American market in the near future.
