Azelis, a leading innovation service provider in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients industry, has announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of Distona AG.
Azelis, a global leader in the specialty chemicals and food ingredients sector, has reinforced its position in the European market with the acquisition of Distona AG, a prominent Swiss distributor of industrial chemicals. The acquisition, which sees Azelis take full ownership of Distona, is a key step in the company's strategy of growth through targeted acquisitions.
Distona, founded in 2014 and based in Rapperswil-Jona, has built a strong reputation as a trusted partner in the Swiss industrial chemicals market. The company’s focus on the CASE (Coatings, Adhesives, Sealants and Elastomers), Advanced Materials & Additives, and Lubricants & Metalworking Fluids industries, along with its established network of over 150 customers, provides a significant and complementary addition to Azelis's existing business.
The integration of Distona's operations into the Azelis group is expected to create substantial synergies. Azelis will leverage Distona's strong local presence and broad customer base to enhance its own salesforce and broaden its product portfolio in Switzerland. This will provide customers with a wider selection of innovative products and services, supported by Azelis's extensive network of principal partnerships. For principals, the acquisition offers enhanced exposure and new opportunities to expand the market for their products within Switzerland.
