On May 28, 2025, BASF India Limited announced the launch of two new agrochemical products—Valexio insecticide and Mibelya fungicide—through its Agricultural Solutions division. These advanced crop protection solutions are specifically developed to support rice cultivation, one of India’s most vital food crops. The company notified the Stock Exchange of the development, highlighting the significance of these products in improving both the quantity and quality of rice yields.

Valexio is designed to effectively manage rice hoppers, a major pest affecting rice fields, while Mibelya targets fungal diseases such as sheath blight. Together, they offer comprehensive protection to rice crops, helping farmers address key challenges during the growing season.

Both products will be commercially available across India starting June 2025, aligning with the beginning of the rice transplanting season. With the timely introduction of Valexio and Mibelya, BASF aims to empower Indian rice growers with innovative tools to enhance crop productivity and ensure better harvest outcomes. These solutions reflect BASF’s ongoing commitment to supporting sustainable agriculture and addressing the evolving needs of Indian farmers.

About Valexio and application

Valexio® is a next-generation insecticide powered by Prexio® Active, specifically formulated to combat rice hoppers with exceptional efficacy and extended residual control. It works by targeting and blocking nicotinic acetylcholine receptors, disrupting nerve signal transmission in pests, leading to paralysis and preventing feeding, reproduction, and crop damage. Its advanced chemical structure resists degradation by metabolic enzymes, maintaining effectiveness even against resistant populations. Valexio® also features excellent systemicity, rainfastness, and ease of use, providing comprehensive plant coverage and supporting diverse rice farming practices. Additionally, it promotes plant health by enhancing photosynthesis, resulting in greener, stronger, and cleaner stems for improved yields.

About Mibelya and Application

Mibelya®, powered by Revysol active, is an innovative fungicide solution introduced for the first time in India, designed to transform disease management in agriculture. Combining the power of Mefentrifluconazole (200 g/l) and Fluxapyroxad (200 g/l), it delivers a dual mode of action through a unique blend of Isopropanol-Azole and SDHI. This advanced formulation offers exceptional efficacy and selectivity, especially against sheath blight, by strengthening and enhancing tiller productivity while providing long-lasting, rainfast protection. Revysol, the first and only isopropanol azole (FRAC Group 3), binds strongly within the leaf to create internal reservoirs for sustained disease control, even under rainy conditions. Complementing this, Xemium (FRAC Group 7) uses pyrazole-binding technology for quick absorption, systemic movement, and prolonged residual activity, supporting uninterrupted plant growth and higher yields. Developed by BASF’s fungicide experts, Mibelya® represents a smarter, more resilient defense system for modern Indian farming.
