Warren [US]: There was chaos at the Warren's Cleveland-Cliffs Coke Plant on Saturday afternoon when a boiler exploded at 2:53 PM local time. Thankfully, nobody was hurt in the incident as confirmed by officials from the Warren Township Fire Department. The cause of the explosion is believed to have been a boiler failure. Everyone is accounted for and safe.

A towering plume of smoke was seen billowing from the plant situated on Main Avenue. Videos of the aftermath of the explosion were captured and shared on social media. The plant is responsible for producing coke, a coal-based fuel that is essential in the Steel production process.

There have been no reports of chemical leaks as a result of the explosion, however people are being advised to stay clear of the area.

The plant will remain in operation despite the explosion that occurred.

Residents near Warren Coke facility reported a loud noise in the area yesterday. Thankfully, no injuries were reported, and business operations have continued as usual, despite an issue with one of the boilers. The plant is equipped with redundant boilers to ensure that production continues without interruption.

Saturday afternoon sent shockwaves throughout the community as locals took to social media to report that they heard a loud boom and felt their buildings and homes shaking.
