Recleo unifies recycled polyolefin solutions from Borealis and Borouge, offering global, cost-effective, certified materials that enhance circularity and support evolving sustainability regulations.

Borealis and Borouge have officially introduced Recleo™, a new global brand that brings together a wide range of mechanically recycled polyolefins designed for diverse applications. This innovative brand portfolio integrates both post-industrial recyclate (PIR) and post-consumer recyclate (PCR), creating a unified, cost-efficient offering for customers seeking reliable and sustainable material solutions. Industries such as mobility, household appliances, construction, infrastructure, and consumer goods can now more easily access recycled polyolefins backed by the technical expertise and global presence of both companies.

Recleo is positioned as a complementary offering to the existing Borcycle™ M family, which focuses on high-end mechanically recycled polyolefins manufactured solely from post-consumer waste and intended for demanding, premium applications. Together, the two brands provide Borealis and Borouge with the ability to serve the full range of customer requirements—from upscale technical needs to broader, cost-effective sustainability goals—while reinforcing their commitment to circularity.

All products under the Recleo name are developed using verified PIR and PCR waste sources. This contributes to reduced carbon emissions and supports customers pursuing ambitious environmental targets. By keeping valuable polymers within the productive cycle, Recleo helps industries advance toward a more sustainable materials ecosystem and reduces reliance on virgin resources.

The new brand also aligns with emerging global regulatory demands. It supports compliance with critical policies such as the upcoming EU End-of-Life Vehicle Regulation (ELVR) and the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR). Additionally, many of the grades offered in this portfolio carry RecyClass certification and are manufactured in accordance with the IATF 16949 quality management standard, giving customers added confidence in both quality and traceability.

According to Dirk Langhammer, Vice President of Circular Economy Solutions at Borealis, Recleo represents the reorganization of an essential part of the company’s recycled materials offering. He emphasizes that the consolidation of mechanically recycled grades under this global brand simplifies customer access to sustainable materials while ensuring affordability across a variety of uses. Borcycle M, meanwhile, will continue to cover specialized premium requirements. This clearer product structure is designed to guide customers more efficiently toward solutions best suited to their needs.

Recleo’s worldwide availability ensures dependable supply and uniform quality across key markets. Backed by extensive technical knowledge and an expansive global network, the brand provides fully integrated support for customers looking to increase recycled content within their applications. It also seamlessly complements the complete Borealis and Borouge virgin polyolefin portfolio, making it easier to enhance circularity in consumer products. The materials are compatible with various processing technologies—especially film production and extrusion—helping manufacturers incorporate recycled feedstock without compromising performance.

Borouge’s Senior Vice President of Marketing and Innovation, Youssef Taha, highlights that Recleo broadens access to certified recycled materials at scale. Unifying the recycled offerings under one brand allows customers to adopt circular solutions more smoothly within current production operations.

Ultimately, the launch of Recleo underscores the shared ambition of Borealis and Borouge to accelerate the transition toward sustainable living. By expanding global access to high-quality recycled materials, the two companies continue their mission to support a truly circular economy.
