China’s industrial wooden pallet market moved moderately higher in June 2026, with prices increasing by approximately 1% month-on-month as producers passed on higher procurement and processing costs. The wooden pallet market experienced mild supply pressure at the beginning of the month due to reduced Russian lumber flows and slower New Zealand log arrivals, which affected imported softwood availability. These conditions supported firmer quotations for finished wooden pallet products, particularly from producers in Shandong.
Mid-June demand improved as the 6 to 18 e-commerce sales campaign encouraged inventory replenishment among fulfilment centres and logistics operators. Export manufacturers in consumer electronics and household appliances also increased orders ahead of summer shipments, supporting wooden pallet demand. However, construction-related consumption remained weak, limiting stronger market gains. Packaging and general industrial applications continued to provide stable support for the wooden pallet sector.
Supply-side factors remained important throughout June. Higher imported softwood costs increased production expenses, while adequate domestic poplar availability helped manufacturers maintain regular output. Producers continued using existing log inventories to meet the increase in wooden pallet orders during the middle of the month. Higher electricity expenses for kiln drying during summer added further pressure on operating costs, encouraging manufacturers to maintain stronger selling prices. Despite these challenges, no major production disruptions were reported.
Looking ahead, China’s wooden pallet market is expected to remain stable to slightly firm through autumn 2026. Continued demand from logistics networks and export-oriented industries should provide support, while adequate domestic poplar supply and stable operating rates may restrict significant price increases. Potential risks include further increases in imported softwood costs, electricity expenses, and freight charges, which could influence wooden pallet pricing. Geopolitical disruptions affecting container movement and raw material flows may also create volatility. Overall, the wooden pallet industry is expected to see gradual price movements, with seasonal shipment patterns and inventory cycles shaping market direction in the coming months.
