Citroniq and Vinmar’s Premier unit sign 15-year deal to supply carbon-negative polypropylene, accelerating global adoption of sustainable plastics solutions.
Citroniq has entered into a long-term strategic partnership with Premier Product Marketing, a subsidiary of Vinmar Group, through a 15-year binding offtake agreement centered on sustainable polymer innovation. The deal focuses on the supply of OrganiqPP®, a groundbreaking polypropylene resin developed by Citroniq that is entirely biogenic and carbon-negative—positioned as a first-of-its-kind material in the global plastics industry.
This agreement represents a significant commercial milestone for Citroniq, a company recognized for advancing carbon-negative material technologies. Under the terms of the deal, Premier Product Marketing will purchase and distribute a substantial share of OrganiqPP® output, accounting for approximately 50% of the projected production capacity of Citroniq’s upcoming manufacturing facility in Nebraska, United States. The plant is currently under development and is expected to commence operations in 2029.
Securing a buyer for half of the plant’s initial production capacity several years ahead of its operational launch underscores growing confidence within the petrochemical and plastics industries in next-generation sustainable materials. It also reflects a broader shift in market demand, as companies across sectors increasingly prioritize decarbonization and environmentally responsible sourcing solutions.
Premier Product Marketing will play a central role in bringing OrganiqPP® to global markets. Leveraging its well-established international logistics network and deep expertise in petrochemical distribution, the company will manage marketing and supply chain operations for the product. This collaboration is expected to accelerate the adoption of carbon-negative polypropylene across diverse industries and geographies.
Vishal Goradia, CEO of Vinmar Group, emphasized the strategic importance of the partnership, noting that the company is proud to act as the anchor offtaker for this pioneering initiative. He highlighted Premier Product Marketing’s strong positioning to introduce OrganiqPP® to a global customer base, supporting the transition toward more sustainable material solutions.
OrganiqPP® has been engineered as a direct substitute for conventional fossil fuel-based polypropylene, one of the most widely used plastics worldwide. Its compatibility with existing manufacturing systems means that companies can integrate the material into current production processes without requiring costly modifications or infrastructure changes. This “drop-in” capability is expected to significantly lower barriers to adoption while enabling meaningful reductions in carbon emissions.
Kelly Knopp, CEO and Co-Founder of Citroniq, described the agreement as a transformative step for the plastics sector. He noted that combining scalable sustainable materials with a robust global supply chain creates a unique opportunity to redefine how polypropylene is sourced and utilized. The partnership aims to make environmentally responsible plastics more accessible and commercially viable at scale.
Looking ahead, Citroniq is actively engaging with additional partners to expand the reach of its carbon-negative materials. Demand is rising across key industries—including packaging, consumer goods, automotive, and industrial manufacturing—where polypropylene remains an essential component. As sustainability becomes a central focus for global supply chains, initiatives like this agreement are expected to play a critical role in reshaping the future of plastics.
