Clariant is pleased to showcase its newest solutions aimed at bolstering safety, efficiency, promoting circularity, and curbing waste within the plastics industry at Chinaplas 2024, currently underway in Shanghai, China.

"Since K 2022, our team has been diligently crafting cutting-edge products that prioritize human health and environmental sustainability without compromising on performance," remarked Miao Zhigang, who heads Clariant's Polymer Solutions business.

"We are delighted to introduce our latest innovation, the AddWorks PPA, which is our PFAS-free Additives line, at Chinaplas 2024."

Clariant unveils AddWorks PPA, a range of polymer processing aid compositions designed for polyolefin film extrusion, free from PFAS.

During Chinaplas 2024, Clariant debuts its latest product range, AddWorks PPA, catering to customers in the polyolefin film extrusion sector.

The fresh AddWorks PPA polymer additive series guarantees consistent and seamless processing, maintaining superior optical film characteristics (haze, gloss, clarity) by eliminating issues like sharkskin and dye accumulation. These new compositions have no impact on film tensile strength, mechanical properties, or sealing capabilities. Additionally, they boast high thermal stability, minimal to no migration, and low let-down ratios (LDRs), ensuring cost-effectiveness in application.

"Our teams have engineered these solutions to fully adhere to the increasingly stringent PFAS regulations, while also optimizing production line efficiency and film quality," remarked Miao Zhigang, Head of Clariant’s Polymer Solutions business.

In response to growing concerns about the long-term presence of PFAS in the environment and its potential impact on human health, Clariant has innovated the AddWorks PPA product line. These novel products are free from inorganic content and silicone components, yet maintain exceptional performance standards. Clariant intends to introduce the AddWorks PPA globally in spring 2024.

Clariant introduces bio-based additives Licocare RBW Vita 560 and 360 to drive sustainable evolution in plastics.

Clariant is delighted to introduce two new Licocare RBW Vita products to the Chinese market.

The latest inclusion in Clariant’s line of top-quality additives is Licocare RBW Vita 560, derived from raw rice bran wax, a renewable resource that doesn’t interfere with food production. Crafted by Clariant's expert teams, this bio-based wax is tailored for formulators of polyester compounds, specifically targeting applications in the electronics and electric (E&E) industries.

Licocare RBW Vita 560 enhances efficiency by decreasing cycle times and streamlining the processing of injection-molded polyester compounds. It promotes smoother mold release, leading to enhanced surface quality and a diminished likelihood of defects such as short shots or sticking of polyester parts to the mold. Consequently, this advancement allows for increased production output per machine hour and contributes to a reduction in overall energy consumption.

The latest product release, Licocare RBW Vita 360, serves as a versatile additive tailored specifically for polyamides. Clariant's application trials with Polyamide 6.6 demonstrated a significant reduction in cycle times by up to 71% per molded part with the inclusion of this product in the neat polymer.

Both Licocare RBW Vita 560 and 360 enhance efficiency by combining lubrication and nucleation properties in engineering plastics. These additives exhibit low volatility and demonstrate high thermal and color stability. Licocare RBW Vita 560 is particularly resilient under higher processing temperatures compared to traditional products and exhibits superior performance even at lower dosages.

Moreover, the Vita product line boasts a Renewable Carbon Index (RCI) of at least 98%, resulting in reduced carbon footprints compared to contemporary alternatives.
