Welcome To ChemAnalyst
In early July 2025, Copper Sulphate quotes advanced moderately within Asia and also the USA owing to strong mid-season agro demand for fungicides. Active crops and a higher risk of fungal diseases boosted the procurement of fungicides, for instance, in rice, corn, and potato-growing areas, while interest from industrial sectors continued to be lackluster where demand is linked to construction activities.
In China, Copper Sulphate prices received firming support, as offtake for fungicides surged. During the peak crop growth stage, copper-based mixtures were in higher demand, of which rice, vegetable, and fruit orchards were widely used in the southern and eastern provinces of China at present warm humid conditions. Agrochemical formulators stepped up offtake to comply with spraying schedules. Distributors operating from Jiangsu, Hunan, and Zhejiang increased their off-take patterns. Overall sentiment improved, replenishing the supply of Copper Sulphate into the markets, notwithstanding demand off-take outside agriculture remaining short & weak.
Feedstock costs firmed, notably for sulphuric acid, with key bulk deals concluded—one 20,000-ton shipment for mid-July and two 30,000-ton cargoes for August—signaling tightening availability. Copper prices remained elevated, reinforcing cost-side pressure. Inventory levels stayed balanced, helping maintain supply stability across key consumption zones.
Downstream industrial demand lagged behind. The construction sector continued to drag, with low housing activity and a 0.47% month-on-month decline in second-hand home prices eroding demand for copper sulphate-based plasticizers. Most buying beyond agriculture was confined to routine requirements, with little momentum for restocking.
In India, the mid-Kharif stage under the monsoon downpours boosted the requirement for fungicides in paddy and vegetables. Active procurements were observed in states such as Punjab, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh as spraying gathered pace.
Copper Sulphate supply situations in India were stable with steady feedstock availability. While industrial demand stayed weak due to construction delays and labor shifts, agricultural volumes drove short-term price momentum. Export orders remained limited, but domestic sentiment improved with strong field-level activity.
In the U.S., Copper Sulphate demand strengthened as summer crops like corn and soybeans reached growth stages, requiring disease control. Fungicide applications expanded, especially across the Midwest and Southeast. U.S. construction spending fell 0.3% in June, reinforcing weak chemical demand from housing and infrastructure. Still, agricultural uptake kept Copper Sulphate prices supported.
As per the ChemAnalyst, Copper Sulphate prices are anticipated to remain firm through July, backed by sustained fungicide use, steady feedstock trends, and early procurement for late-season spraying across major crop-growing regions.
