Deccan Gold Mines has reported promising drilling results from its Logrosan Tungsten Project in Spain, with every completed drill hole confirming potentially economic tungsten or tungsten-tin mineralisation at the Dehesa exploration target. The findings strengthen confidence in the project's resource potential and reinforce its importance as a future source of critical minerals in Europe.
The latest exploration campaign included seven diamond drill holes covering nearly 3,000 metres. Laboratory assay results revealed several high-grade tungsten intersections across the drilling programme. Among the standout results, drill hole LDD017 returned 1.21% WO3 at a depth of 535 metres, while drill hole LDD016 recorded 0.88% WO3 at 470 metres. The widest mineralised interval identified during the campaign measured 7.5 metres with an average grade of 0.29% WO3. The company stated that additional assay results from the ongoing drilling programme are expected in the coming weeks.
Beyond the encouraging assay grades, geological analysis suggests that the tungsten mineralisation is not limited to isolated veins. Instead, it appears to form part of a much broader hydrothermal mineral system extending across an estimated three-kilometre trend. This interpretation indicates the presence of a large-scale tungsten-tin mineralised system that could become stronger at greater depths, significantly enhancing the long-term exploration potential of the project.
The Logrosan Tungsten Project represents an important component of Deccan Gold Mines' European growth strategy. The company recently entered into a definitive earn-in agreement that will allow it to progressively acquire a majority stake in Logrosan Minera S.L. The Spanish company controls a portfolio of highly prospective mineral assets containing tungsten, tin, rare earth elements, gold, niobium, and tantalum within the Iberian metallogenic belt, one of Europe's most significant mineral provinces.
Deccan Gold plans to continue drilling at the Dehesa target while expanding exploration activities to the Las Brujas and Logrosan North prospects later this year. The company aims to evaluate the broader district-scale mineralisation potential and advance the project toward future resource development.
The Logrosan Project includes the 37-square-kilometre Logrosan licence and the 40-square-kilometre Maria licence, along with an additional licence application covering another 30 square kilometres. Its exposure to multiple critical minerals positions the project as a strategically valuable European exploration asset. As global demand for tungsten, tin, and rare earth elements continues to increase due to clean energy technologies, electronics, and advanced manufacturing, successful exploration at Logrosan could strengthen Europe's domestic supply chain and reduce dependence on imported critical minerals.
Impact on Product and ChemAnalyst Commodity Prices
The encouraging drill results improve the long-term supply outlook for tungsten concentrate, tungsten oxide, ferrotungsten, tin, and other critical minerals associated with the Logrosan Project. Although the discovery does not immediately affect global supply, it enhances confidence in future European production capacity. For commodities tracked by ChemAnalyst, the short-term price impact is expected to remain neutral, as commercial production is still years away. Over the medium to long term, successful resource development could increase regional availability of tungsten raw materials, easing supply concerns and potentially placing moderate downward pressure on tungsten-related prices, while having only a limited influence on tin and other associated critical mineral markets.
