ENGEL, a global leader in injection molding machine manufacturing, is strengthening its presence in southwestern Europe with the acquisition of Roegele, its long-time sales partner in Spain. Effective April 1, 2026, Roegele will become ENGEL Spain, a new subsidiary based in Barcelona.

Roegele, S.A., one of ENGEL’s oldest distribution partners, has represented the company since 1972, providing sales, service, training and consulting across key sectors including automotive, packaging, medical technology and technical molding. The companies have enjoyed a trusted partnership spanning more than five decades. In recent years, over 90% of Roegele’s business has focused on ENGEL products.

With owners Bernd and Kai Roegele preparing for retirement, the acquisition ensures a sustainable succession plan and aligns with ENGEL’s long-term international growth strategy.

“After more than 50 years of successful cooperation, this acquisition is a logical step forward,” said Stefan Engleder, CEO of the ENGEL Group. “Spain is one of Europe’s most important plastics markets. ENGEL Spain will allow us to expand into new customer segments, improve service responsiveness and strengthen our long-term market position.”

Spain’s plastics industry holds strong potential, particularly in the automotive and packaging sectors, where ENGEL already has a significant presence. Technical molding is also an area of growing demand. Establishing a direct presence in the region through ENGEL Spain will enable the company to better meet customer needs.

ENGEL Spain will operate as an independent subsidiary within the global ENGEL Group. All current Roegele employees will be retained. The move reflects ENGEL’s customer-centric approach and ongoing investment in localized structures and expertise.

The existing Roegele site in Barcelona will be upgraded and serves as the new home of ENGEL Spain. With approximately 600 square meters of production space, the facility offers ample room for future expansion and development.

With this acquisition, ENGEL now operates its own subsidiaries in all major southern and western European markets. The move ensures closer customer proximity, deeper local expertise and stronger integration with ENGEL’s broader European network.

The ENGEL Group primarily specializes in manufacturing injection molding machines, technologies, and digital solutions for the plastics industry. While the company does not directly produce chemical products, it provides advanced systems for processing a wide range of materials—including elastomers such as Liquid Silicone Rubber (LSR). ENGEL also supports applications involving polyurethane (PUR), including processes like in-mold painting.
