Epinephrine Prices Rebound Gradually Across the Globe Amidst Demand Surges

Epinephrine prices demonstrated an inclined trend during January 2023 within the global market, primarily in Germany, the United States, and China significantly. Demand from international and domestic markets surged, and various experts further suggest that despite the ongoing growth and inquiries, there are concerns about dealing with shortages of low-profit generic active pharmaceutical ingredients.

As China's "Zero-Covid" policy has been relaxed and its economy has reopened, there have been reports of major outbreaks in pent-up inquiries at factories and shipments at ports. The cost of Epinephrine showcased an increment of around 2.56 percent in China. Shortages or lessened availability of Pharmaceutical API such as Epinephrine compared to the previous month have been supported by various factors such as weak trading activity, lower production due to sudden surge of Covid cases, etc., have compelled the manufacturers to raise their manufacturing activities within the region to meet the demand from local and overseas market. Moreover, the labor shortage amidst the arrival of the Lunar New Year (LNY) in China resulted in a halt in production and affected trade activity, further supporting the current Epinephrine trend.

Similarly, Germany and the United States followed a China price trajectory for Epinephrine. Higher production costs and input charges from upstream factories, combined with increased inquiries, aided the positive price trend. Additionally, key economies have started to fall into recession because of the long-standing low demand for Epinephrine brought on by supply uncertainty that affected the global pharmaceutical sectors, which now emphasize raising their drug stocks to accommodate the surge in its demand. With this, Epinephrine prices in Germany demonstrated an inclination of around  0.36 and 0.24 percent in the United States, respectively, until the end of January 2023.

According to ChemAnalyst, "Epinephrine demand is projected to remain upward in the upcoming months. Traders and local merchants are expected to focus on increasing their stock levels, owing to a continuous surge in customer inquiries for Epinephrine".
