However, strong inventory levels and weaker demand after the seasonal peak pushed prices lower later in the month. Production in Asia stayed steady, backed by consistent supplies of ethylene and ethanol. Exports to Europe continued without issues. Imports from Asia remained strong, even with uneven global trade. Shipping demand on Asia to Europe routes grew, while transpacific flows weakened. However, Europe’s demand for food-grade Acetaldehyde slowed as food and beverage companies cut back on imports ahead of the year-end. Specialty chemical users also reduced their purchases. The buildup of inventory further lowered the need for new buying. Looking ahead, prices are expected to drop further as demand stays weak, supply from Asia remains steady, and stable feedstock costs prevent any increase in prices.
