Eurotecnica strengthens leadership in melamine technology with a new China Coal contract and successful G5 plant acceptance, expanding global capacity rapidly.

Eurotecnica, headquartered in Milan, Italy, and a key member of the Proman group of companies, has further solidified its reputation as the world’s leading provider of high-pressure melamine production technology. The company has achieved two major milestones in China, underscoring both its technical expertise and its expanding influence in one of the fastest-growing melamine markets globally. The first milestone involves signing a significant new contract with China Coal Ordos Energy & Chemical Co. Ltd. for the development of a world-scale melamine production plant. The second is the successful final acceptance of a 60,000 metric-tons-per-year (m.t./yr) G5 Euromel® plant delivered to Shaanxi Longhua Group Coal Technology Development Co., Ltd.

Eurotecnica’s newly signed cooperation agreement with China Coal Ordos Energy & Chemical marks the development of a 60,000-m.t./yr melamine plant that will utilize the advanced G5 Euromel® technology. This facility becomes the fifth China Coal plant to adopt the latest-generation, high-efficiency G5 process. The new agreement highlights Eurotecnica’s growing prominence in China, its most dynamic and strategically important market. The expansion comes at a time when global demand for melamine—used widely in laminates, coatings, flame-retardant materials and molding compounds—is rising steadily at an annual rate of approximately 5%.

Giuseppe Di Ruocco, Managing Director of Eurotecnica, emphasized that the new collaboration with China Coal reflects a strong endorsement of the company’s cutting-edge G5 technology. “As we formalise our cooperation with China Coal for a 60,000-m.t./yr G5 melamine plant, we see a very clear vote of confidence in the performance and reliability of the Euromel® G5 technology,” he said. Di Ruocco added that Eurotecnica remains committed to offering solutions that customers need most—highly efficient, energy-saving, and waste-free systems with verified, real-world results.

Parallel to this new agreement, Eurotecnica has successfully completed the first full-scale deployment of its G5 Euromel® technology through the final acceptance of a similarly sized plant operated by Shaanxi Longhua Group. The project, executed within roughly 24 months from concept design to startup, stands as a significant achievement for the company. Not only has the plant validated the low energy consumption promised by G5 technology, but it has also exceeded expectations in terms of final melamine quality.

Guido Canti, Eurotecnica’s Commercial Director, expressed pride in the project’s smooth execution: “It is immensely satisfying to hand over the Longhua project on schedule and to see the G5 Euromel® plant surpass expectations in both energy performance and product quality. This achievement reinforces our commitment to delivering world-class technology to the melamine industry and sets a new benchmark for future projects.”

Together, these accomplishments expand Eurotecnica’s global licensing presence, which now exceeds 1.4 million tonnes per year of installed capacity. To date, more than 8 million tonnes of melamine have been produced using Euromel® technology worldwide. As global demand continues to grow, these milestones further strengthen Eurotecnica’s standing as the industry’s most trusted technology licensor.
