Export Order Collapse Pushes China's CCA Prices Down 4.7% in Late June

Chinese copper-clad aluminium (CCA) markets shifted into a weaker position in late June as export enquiries faded, overseas aluminum wire orders collapsed, and construction activity slowed, creating a cautious tone across the sector. Earlier momentum from automotive and telecom applications offered only limited support as June’s downturn became the dominant driver. Producers maintained output by completing previously scheduled orders, but the absence of new bookings signals a coming decline once these commitments are fulfilled. Domestic demand also softened, with buyers reducing spot interest amid seasonal restocking. May’s strong aluminum wire export performance now plays a smaller role in market sentiment as narrowing price spreads reshape expectations for CCA producers. Forward projections suggest a restrained outlook influenced by energy policies, regional supply disruptions, and seasonal restocking patterns.

Chinese CCA (copper-clad aluminium) markets weakened sharply into late June, with June-specific dynamics now dominating the narrative. Softer export enquiry, a rapid collapse in new overseas aluminum-wire orders, and a mid-month slowdown in construction demand collectively pushed CCA sentiment into a distinctly defensive posture. By contrast, May’s conditions—previously steady offtake for lightweight wiring harnesses tied to the NEV cycle and stable *G-related demand for high-frequency coaxial CCA cables—now represent only a modest backdrop to June’s far more consequential shifts.

June’s pressure on CCA producers intensified as the export window that had fueled May’s record aluminum-wire shipments began to close. Overseas traders and Chinese wire-cable manufacturers reported that new export orders for aluminum stranded wire had plummeted, with last week seeing only sparse enquiries and this week showing almost no new orders at all. The SHFE/LME aluminum price ratio narrowed sharply as overseas aluminum prices...
