New Delhi: The government is introducing a comprehensive plan to reduce fertilizer subsidy costs, introducing new premium fertilizer products like nano DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate), gold urea (which includes humic acid to increase longevity) and Triple Super Phosphate (which is mainly used for leguminous crops). These products promise to be cost effective and help farmers by providing higher quality yields.’

The government announced that several products will be subject to either no subsidy or reduced subsidies. This change has been made to save money and protect the environment by conserving soil fertility. Moreover, this new plan will not have a negative effect on farmers’ earnings. Overall, this new policy is beneficial for both the public budget and the environment.

The government is introducing a new kind of fertilizer, Nano DAP, for the upcoming sowing season. Farmers will be able to purchase this fertilizer without any subsidies, yet at prices 50% lower than conventional DAP. For instance, a 50 kg bag of DAP costs around Rs 3,850, and Nano DAP is expected to cost considerably less.
