Fused silica prices in China rose by 0.8% in the week ending Dec. 19, 2025. A stable production level, better availability of feedstock, and increased demand from the semiconductor and manufacturing industries helped drive the increase in the prices of the material.
The Fused Silica supply situation in China was stable over the reviewed week, the main producing areas of Jiangsu, Hebei, Fujian were running at or close to nameplate capacity. There were no challenges for feedstock availability: domestic quartz sand satisfied the majority of demand and high purity ores from Spruce Pine and Tana were cleared at the border without incident.
There were no difficulties in access to the supply of the raw materials as the local quartz sand was satisfying the overall quantity demands and imported high purity ores from countries like Spruce Pine and Tana had not faced any interruption after clearing the customs.
