The Polystyrene market in Germany has started March xxxx on a positive note. Major producers are announcing price increases, which is boosting confidence in the market. INEOS Styrolution has increased prices for General Purpose Polystyrene (GPPS) by xx Euros per MT for bulk purchases. They have also raised prices for High Impact Polystyrene (HIPS) by xxx Euros per MT. These changes have been effective from March x, xxxx. Similarly, Trinseo has also announced a price hike of xx Euros per MT for both GPPS and HIPS grades.
However, even with these price announcements, actual purchase volumes did not change much in the first two weeks this month. Weekly Polystyrene prices have been stable since the x.xx increase seen at the end of February.
