The international Formic Acid market in early July 2025 reflected regional differences in prices, supply and demand patterns, influenced by logistical issues, policy changes, and industry-specific trends.

North America

In the US, Formic Acid FOB prices from Texas remained flat at USD xxx/MT in the seventh week in a row, almost directly tracking a xx-week EMA of USD xxx.xx/MT. Firm upstream prices for methanol at USD xxx/MT provided steady cost of production, with no accidents being reported at Gulf Coast facilities or critical ports. Demand was solid, led by agriculture, biofuels, and leather chemicals. The USD xx billion emergency package by the USDA supported farmer liquidity, underpinning demand for chemical inputs, while livestock trade with Mexico and biofuel blending also supported consumption. Despite this, U.S. formic acid exports were hindered by lower-cost foreign competitors, thus constraining global competitiveness.
