Homerun secures ANM approval for silica exploration report in Brazil, confirming vast resources and advancing toward long-term mining and industrial applications.
Homerun Resources Inc. has announced a significant development in its Brazilian operations with the approval of its Final Exploration Report by the country’s National Mining Agency (ANM). The approval pertains to the concession area leased from Companhia Bahiana de Pesquisa Mineral (CBPM) within the Santa Maria Eterna High-Purity Silica District, situated in the municipality of Belmonte, Bahia, Brazil.
This Final Exploration Report is an important milestone as it includes a NI 43-101 compliant Mineral Resource Estimate (MRE), confirming the presence of extensive high-purity silica sand deposits in the district. The report identifies a preliminary mineral resource of 25.56 million tonnes (Mt) in the Measured category and an additional 38.35Mt classified as Inferred resources, all with purity levels exceeding 99.6% silicon dioxide (SiO2). This level of quality underscores the district’s potential as a global-scale source of silica for advanced industrial applications.
The Company highlighted that it is already in possession of the necessary permits for immediate extraction and mining activities, thanks to a second lease it holds with CBPM within the same Santa Maria Eterna District. This positions Homerun to move swiftly toward operational expansion while continuing to build on its exploration success.
The approved Final Exploration Report specifically relates to mineral right 870.141/2014, and was prepared by Homerun on behalf of CBPM in line with the companies’ existing lease agreement. With the report now approved, the next procedural step involves filing for the Final Mining Permit, which will enable the Company to transition from exploration to full-scale commercial mining activities.
Commenting on this achievement, Brian Leeners, CEO of Homerun Resources, emphasized the long-term strategic value of the project. He noted that the approval represents another key advancement in developing and consolidating the Company’s controlled resources within the Santa Maria Eterna District. According to Leeners, Homerun’s collaboration with CBPM, along with its resource base and supply agreements, is laying the foundation for a robust portfolio of multiple, large, fully permitted high-purity silica sand sources.
This resource base is critical to supporting the Company’s broader initiatives in processed silica, solar glass manufacturing, energy storage solutions, and advanced materials. Leeners further stressed that with the scale of the resources identified, Homerun is positioning itself to provide reliable supply for well over a century, ensuring long-term security for both domestic and international industrial partners.
With the approval of the Final Exploration Report now secured, Homerun Resources is steadily moving closer to commercial-scale mining in one of Brazil’s most promising silica districts, further strengthening its role as a future leader in the advanced silica market.
