Homerun Resources Inc. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with CBPM (Companhia Baiana de Pesquisa Mineral), BahiaGás (Bahia Gas Company), SECTI (Secretariat of Science, Technology and Innovation), and the Municipality of Belmonte to advance its industrial projects in Bahia, Brazil. The agreement outlines collaboration on land donation, infrastructure development, and the provision of essential services for Homerun’s silica processing and solar glass manufacturing facilities.

The MoU is structured to enable the implementation of a 120,000-ton annual silica processing facility and a 365,000-ton solar glass manufacturing plant. These developments aim to complete the value chain from mineral extraction to high-value final products in Belmonte. This initiative is projected to bring socioeconomic and environmental benefits to the state of Bahia.

CEO Brian Leeners expressed gratitude to all stakeholders, from local officials to the state government, acknowledging the MoU as a significant milestone for Homerun and the people of Bahia. He commended the support received and highlighted the dedication of the company’s country manager, Antonio Vitor, in fostering this transformative partnership.

Under the agreement, a minimum of 60 hectares of land will be donated within 30 days for the project. The parties will coordinate the paving of local roads, provide tax incentives, and expedite the licensing and permitting processes. Additionally, BahiaGás will ensure a continuous and safe supply of natural gas, crucial to the plant's operations.

SECTI and CBPM will facilitate technical training and education, support workforce development, and promote research and innovation aligned with sustainable mining and high-purity silica production. Partnerships with universities and research institutions will also be formed to support technological advancement.

The Municipality of Belmonte will oversee the legal and logistical processes of the land transfer, assist with environmental licensing, and ensure utility access. It will also coordinate workforce mobilization efforts, aiming for high local hiring rates.

BahiaGás is responsible for delivering 6,100 Nm³/h of natural gas at stable pressure levels, constructing the required infrastructure, and signing a supply contract with Homerun within 90 days. CBPM will offer technical support for licensing and promote sustainable mining practices, while SECTI will spearhead training and fund development to support education and workforce qualification.

Homerun commits to investing up to R$1.8 billion, generating about 500 direct jobs, 2,800 indirect jobs, and up to 1,000 temporary construction jobs. The company will complete the initial project phase within 12 months and the second within 24 months, maintaining a strong focus on environmental, social, and governance principles. The MoU is valid for 36 months, with the option to extend by mutual agreement.
