hubergroup opens new mixing station in Sainte-Sigolène, enhancing ink supply, customer service, and sustainable packaging support across France.
hubergroup Print Solutions has expanded its footprint in France by launching a state-of-the-art mixing station in Sainte-Sigolène, a region known as a vital hub for the country’s packaging and extrusion industry. Officially inaugurated on June 20, this new facility highlights the company’s commitment to strengthening its presence in the French market, enhancing customer proximity, and improving service efficiency for flexible packaging producers.
The newly commissioned station is dedicated to hubergroup’s solvent-based Gecko ink products. It integrates key functions such as on-site ink storage, custom mixing, technical support, and a laboratory – all designed to offer end-to-end service to packaging companies in the region. The site is expected to handle approximately 100 tons of ink annually in the short term, with potential for capacity expansion in the future.
Sainte-Sigolène, responsible for nearly half of France’s national extrusion activity, is an ideal location for the facility. By setting up operations in this strategically important cluster, hubergroup enables local packaging companies to benefit from significantly reduced delivery times, quicker technical assistance, and personalized ink formulations, including emergency solutions and special color requests.
Adrien Pflieger, Managing Director of hubergroup France, emphasized the strategic value of this investment. "This new site is a transformative step for both our company and our customers. Our geographical proximity, combined with our technical capabilities, will bring new levels of efficiency and flexibility to flexible packaging manufacturers," he stated.
The Sainte-Sigolène team is composed of two sales engineers, a sales representative, and a mixing station manager, supported by a logistics partner. This local team is further reinforced by the broader European network of hubergroup and expert support from laboratories and product managers at the company’s German headquarters. Pflieger noted that the collaboration between the local team and the international network ensures a swift response to customer needs and enables the company to effectively navigate the specific challenges of the French market.
Beyond improving operational efficiency, the new station plays a significant role in promoting sustainable packaging solutions. The Gecko ink series includes environmentally conscious options such as the NC-free, PU-based Gecko Platinum series and products designed to support deinking and compliance with regulatory thresholds. In addition to inks, hubergroup offers a full suite of complementary products tailored for sustainable flexible packaging – including varnishes, primers, barrier coatings, whites, additives, and laminating adhesives.
By investing in this advanced facility, hubergroup reinforces its dedication to sustainability, innovation, and closer collaboration with its French customer base, positioning itself as a key partner in the region’s dynamic packaging sector.
