With the increasing annual capacity of ethanol production to 3550 million liters, India has successfully achieved the highest ever ethanol blending with petrol close to 7.2 % and close to an all India average of 4.2%. The steady escalation in the ethanol blending will help decrease the imports from other countries and also protect the environment from harmful effluent release from motor vehicles. The ethanol blending percentage is expected to increase to 10% in the next three years.
