As per the recent comments of Mr. Rajendra Gogri, the Managing director of Aarti Industries Ltd, the Coronavirus outbreak has created a positive impact on the company’s chemical business, as far as the demand and prices of the product are concerned. The company is expected to introduce positive revision in the prices of its chemical products March 2020 onwards. However, the company has been facing temporary shortage of the key raw material Nitric Acid which impacted production volumes in company’s Nitro Chloro Benzene (NCB) chain. With NCB capacity of 75,000 tonne per annum, the Aarti Group holds a significant share in the NCB -based specialty chemicals segment. In Q2 FY20, temporary issues such as – Nitric Acid shortage and maintenance shutdown led to the NCB count reach 13,900 tonnes which would have been around 16,000-17,000 tonnes otherwise.
