Indorama Ventures Public Company Limited, a global frontrunner in sustainable chemicals, has revealed its participation in the groundbreaking T-REX (Textile Recycling Excellence) Project. This pioneering initiative aims to create a unified EU framework for the closed-loop sorting and recycling of household textile waste, helping the fashion industry shift towards a more circular and sustainable future. By bringing together key stakeholders from across the value chain, the T-REX Project places itself at the forefront of sustainable innovation.

As the appointed spinning partner, Indorama Ventures will be pivotal in converting chemically recycled feedstock into polyester yarns and fibers. Through the extrusion process, the company will ensure the elimination of impurities, producing high-quality recycled materials. This participation aligns seamlessly with Indorama Ventures' mission to drive the circular economy and promote circular fashion through PET recycling and the supply of recycled materials, highlighting its strong commitment to sustainability.

Diego Boeri, Executive President of Indorama Ventures’ Fibers business, expressed his enthusiasm for the project: "Indorama Ventures has decades of experience in man-made fiber processes, particularly in polyester. We are dedicated to advancing sustainable solutions and utilizing circular feedstock across the value chain to help our partners achieve their sustainability goals. We are excited to leverage our technical expertise to contribute to the success of textile-to-textile recycling within the T-REX Project."

The T-REX Project was launched with the goal of developing a harmonized blueprint to support the creation of a circular system for post-consumer textile waste in Europe. Funded by the EU, the project brings together a consortium of 13 major players from across the value chain, along with research institutes, to transform end-of-life textiles from waste into valuable feedstock and commodities for new business models that can be scaled.

This ambitious initiative underscores the importance of collaboration in driving forward sustainable innovation. By bringing together industry leaders, the T-REX Project aims to establish best practices and scalable solutions that can be adopted widely, fostering a more sustainable and circular approach to textile production and recycling. Indorama Ventures' role in this project not only emphasizes its commitment to environmental stewardship but also showcases its leadership in the sustainable chemical industry.

As the T-REX Project progresses, Indorama Ventures will continue to focus on delivering high-quality, recycled polyester fibers and yarns, contributing to a more sustainable future for the fashion industry. The company's involvement in this groundbreaking initiative reflects its broader goals of enhancing the circular economy and supporting the transition to circular fashion, demonstrating a clear vision for a more sustainable world.
