Indovinya, the specialty chemicals and surfactants business of Indorama Ventures, has entered into a strategic partnership with Air Liquide to incorporate renewable oxygen into its ethylene oxide manufacturing process. The agreement represents another important milestone in the company’s ongoing efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and strengthen its portfolio of lower-carbon chemical products.

Under the collaboration, Air Liquide will supply renewable oxygen that will be utilized in the production of ethylene oxide, a critical feedstock used in manufacturing a broad range of surfactants, detergents, personal care ingredients, and industrial chemicals. By integrating renewable oxygen into this process, Indovinya aims to increase the proportion of renewable inputs in its manufacturing operations while lowering the environmental footprint of its products.

The company estimates that the initiative could reduce the carbon footprint of selected products by as much as 15%, supporting both its internal sustainability objectives and the growing market demand for environmentally responsible chemical solutions. The use of renewable oxygen is expected to contribute significantly to reducing emissions associated with one of the company’s most important raw materials.
