Nonyl Phenol prices in India declined sharply in July **** as abundant imports, high inventories, and cautious downstream procurement created a supply-heavy market. According to ChemAnalyst, regular arrivals from China and South Korea kept availability comfortable at Jawaharlal Nehru Port (JNPT), while exporters reduced offers to clear stocks. The expiry of a temporary duty exemption in mid-July also failed to provide lasting support, leaving buyers with little urgency to replenish inventories.
Demand from major downstream industries remained weak throughout the month. Surfactant manufacturers operated at relatively steady rates but limited fresh Nonyl Phenol purchases because of elevated inventories accumulated during the second quarter. Epoxy resin producers also maintained cautious procurement while waiting for clearer order visibility. Agrochemical demand remained subdued as normal monsoon conditions reduced the need for additional agricultural adjuvants.
