Qingdao Haiwan Chemical Co., Ltd. has awarded a contract to KBR to license its technology for the phenol and acetone plant in Qingdao City, Shandong Province, China. Under the contractual terms, KBR will provide technology license and basic engineering design (LBED) as well as technical and training services for building a Phenol/Acetone plant in Dongjiakou Industrial Zone with 320,000 tonnes per annum (TPA) capacity.
