Metso strengthens China operations by investing in a new rubber products factory, improving supply reliability, service speed, and customer support.

Metso is further strengthening its customer support and regional manufacturing capabilities in China by investing in a new rubber products manufacturing facility in Quzhou, located in Zhejiang Province. This strategic expansion is designed to respond to rising market demand while significantly improving service efficiency and product availability for customers across China and surrounding regions.

The new factory will focus on the production of high-performance rubber wear solutions, including rubber and Poly-Met mill linings, along with Trellex screening media. These products are widely used in mining and aggregates operations to improve equipment durability, operational reliability, and overall processing efficiency. By manufacturing these critical components locally, Metso aims to ensure consistent quality standards while enhancing supply chain resilience and responsiveness.

This investment reflects Metso’s broader strategy to strengthen its regional presence in key customer markets by localizing production and improving operational flexibility. China remains one of the most important markets for mining and aggregates solutions, and the new Quzhou facility is expected to play a central role in supporting customers with faster deliveries, improved technical support, and reduced lead times.

Through this expansion, Metso is reinforcing its long-term commitment to serving mining and aggregates customers in China. Local manufacturing will enable closer collaboration with customers, allowing Metso to better understand specific operational challenges and tailor solutions that enhance productivity and equipment performance. Additionally, the proximity of production to end users will help mitigate logistical challenges, ensuring a more reliable and efficient supply of wear parts.

The new plant will also support Metso’s ambition to deliver a broader portfolio of services alongside its products. With improved local manufacturing capabilities, the company will be able to respond more quickly to customer needs, offer enhanced aftermarket support, and ensure the continuous availability of essential wear components. This is particularly important for operations where equipment downtime can result in significant production losses.

Production of screening media at the Quzhou facility is scheduled to begin during the first quarter of 2026. Mill lining production is planned to commence toward the end of the first half of the year. The facility will utilize modern manufacturing technologies designed to support the efficient production of larger, more complex rubber and composite components while maintaining high quality and performance standards.

By expanding its manufacturing footprint in China, Metso is not only improving service levels but also strengthening its position as a reliable long-term partner for customers in the mining and aggregates sectors. The investment underscores the company’s focus on innovation, operational excellence, and customer-centric solutions, while supporting sustainable growth in one of its most strategically important markets.
