The import prices of cellulase enzymes in the Netherlands have shown an upward trend in the period of January 2025, and the trend has been consistent in the first quarter of 2026. There have been a number of reasons for the increase in the import prices of cellulase enzymes. One of the reasons for the increase in the import prices of cellulase enzymes is the increase in production and transportation costs. However, at the same time, strong demand from end-use segments such as biofuels, textiles, and food processing has helped sustain higher import values as cellulase continues to remain a vital raw material for efficiency-driven end-use segments. Currency fluctuations in the major exporting countries have also contributed to supporting higher landed prices of importers of cellulase enzymes. Precautionary restocking activities of end-users across Europe, driven by continuity of supply issues, have also supported current demand. Looking ahead, it is anticipated that prices of imported cellulase enzymes to the Netherlands will likely continue to support their upward trend during the early part of 2026 before slowing down.
