United States: A fire incident occurred on April 24 at the Novelis Aluminium rolling factory in Mill Township. The top of the property located at 7335 Newport Road SE caught fire due to an exhaust fan, according to Dennison Fire Chief David McConnell. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries as per the latest reports.
The Uhrichsville Fire Department team effectively extinguished a fire on the roof of a building using a ladder truck, completing the task within 15 to 20 minutes. As per reports, the estimated damage caused by the fire is approximately $50,000.
According to reports, Smith Ambulance had one of its employees checked for smoke inhalation after all workers were evacuated from the workplace. Firefighters were called in at 9:56 p.m. and arrived at the scene shortly thereafter. Both Dennison and Uhrichsville firefighters responded, with their arrival time noted at 9:59 p.m. The firefighters stayed until midnight.
Firefighters hailing from Warwick Township, Rush Township, and the Arrowhead Joint Fire District in Gnadenhutten swiftly responded to the incident. McConnell extended gratitude towards the other responding agencies as well as Novelis staff for their valuable assistance.
