Panthenol Market in China Surges 23% MoM Amid Tight Supply and Strong Personal-Care Demand

Panthenol market conditions in China strengthened notably through March, driven by firm demand from personal-care manufacturers and tightening supply across domestic and export channels. Early-month production remained stable, but mid-month regulatory audits and temporary shutdowns at coastal facilities reduced prompt availability, enabling suppliers to raise offers. Demand was supported by advance procurement ahead of seasonal e-commerce activity, particularly for skincare and haircare formulations. At the same time, steady pharmaceutical consumption for topical and injectable applications provided a consistent baseline. On the supply side, rising costs for key inputs such as Vitamin B5, acetone, and isobutyraldehyde, along with higher energy expenses, increased production costs, and limited margin flexibility. Temporary operational pauses at plants in Jiangsu and Zhejiang further tightened supply. Export demand also improved, with increased shipments to Southeast Asia and other regions. According to ChemAnalyst, the near-term outlook remains firm, supported by strong demand and constrained availability, though potential easing may occur later depending on supply recovery and cost trends.
