Pentair plc, renowned for its role in enhancing water sustainability worldwide, is partnering with Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport (MSP) to introduce a new initiative. This collaboration aims to provide travelers with great-tasting, high-quality drinking water in a sustainable manner, thereby reducing reliance on single-use plastic water bottles. MSP, managed by the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), ranks as the 19th busiest airport in North America based on passenger traffic. This joint effort underscores a commitment to environmental stewardship and improving traveler experience by promoting eco-friendly alternatives to plastic waste within one of North America's prominent international air hubs.

Adrian Chiu, EVP and President of Pentair Water Solutions, emphasized Pentair's commitment to advancing smart and sustainable water solutions to benefit both people and the planet. Highlighting Pentair's leadership in the foodservice industry with their Everpure filtration technology, Chiu expressed enthusiasm about extending their filtration expertise to MSP (Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport). This collaboration aims to support MSP's initiative to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable practices by offering travelers free access to filtered water through HydroStations. Chiu underscored Pentair's role in enhancing environmental stewardship through innovative solutions that contribute to a healthier and more sustainable future.

Pentair has become the inaugural partner in MSP's newly launched strategic partnership program aimed at fostering collaboration with businesses and community organizations to enhance passenger experiences and drive innovation. As the Official Water Sponsor of MSP, Pentair is leading efforts to promote sustainability through the deployment of 10 HOPE Hydration HydroStations. These state-of-the-art stations represent a global airport first, offering travelers free, chilled, and filtered water along with an interactive user experience. Through this initiative, Pentair and MSP are educating travelers about water-related issues and encouraging the use of reusable bottles, thereby reducing reliance on single-use plastics.

Aiming to revolutionize access to clean water and minimize plastic pollution, B-Corp certified water-tech startup HOPE Hydration offers a unique solution: HydroStations. These smart-city water refill stations combine cutting-edge technology with a sustainable business model. By leveraging advertising partnerships, HOPE provides free, premium-filtered water to users while fostering brand engagement. This innovative approach positions HOPE as a key player in promoting environmental responsibility and creating a more sustainable future for hydration.

Each HydroStation features Everpure filtration technology from Pentair Water Solutions, providing MSP employees and travelers with a sustainable alternative to single-use plastic bottles, promoting great-tasting water at no cost.

The current impressive network of 80 water refill stations is estimated to divert a staggering 600 pounds of single-use plastic bottles from landfills every day, contributing significantly to environmental sustainability. Integrated IoT technology in the HydroStations tracks real-time impact data on plastic and carbon emission savings, prominently displayed to inform and engage users about their environmental contributions.

Brian Ryks, CEO of the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC), expressed their commitment to promoting reusable options over single-use ones, aiming to simplify sustainable choices for passengers and the airport community. He highlighted the strategic partnership with HOPE Hydration and Pentair, which enhances efforts to reduce waste and support sustainable practices beyond the airport environment.

Jorge Richardson, CEO and Founder of HOPE Hydration, outlined their mission to advocate for reusable solutions through initiatives like the HOPE HydroStation at MSP, renowned for its sustainability efforts. Powered by Pentair's advanced Everpure filtration technology, the HydroStation represents a significant stride towards a more sustainable future. Richardson emphasized their dedication to offering travelers effective hydration solutions that also contribute positively to environmental conservation, reflecting their understanding of traveler needs and aspirations for environmental stewardship.
