Polyurethane Resin Prices Increase in Japan as Domestic Demand Recovers

In mid-May xxxx, prices of Polyurethane Resin (foam) in Japan exhibited a gain of approximately x.xx, largely being  driven by both rising production costs and a slight recovery in domestic demand, particularly from the construction sector. The price surge was largely attributed to an increase in feedstock costs, with MDI prices climbing around xx during middle of May xxxx period thus providing support from the production costs

Major domestic producers such as Mitsui Chemicals responded by raising prices for key inputs like MDI and Polyols by about Yen xx/Kg, effective from May x deliveries which accordingly reflected in current pricing trend.  Mitsui Chemicals reported that these revisions were attributed to growing pressures from labor, logistics, and packaging expenses, which collectively pushed up the overall cost of producing Polyurethane Resin during the reviewed time frame.
