Sekisui Specialty Chemicals will raise prices for Selvol PVOH products globally starting April 1, 2026, citing regional adjustments.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals has announced a global price adjustment for several products within its polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) portfolio. The company stated that the price increases will apply to its widely used brands, including Selvol polyvinyl alcohol, Selvol Ultiloc, Selvol Ultalux, and Selvol Premiol. These materials are commonly utilized in a range of industrial applications such as adhesives, coatings, paper processing, packaging, textiles, and construction formulations.

According to the company, the revised pricing structure will vary by region. Customers in North America will see an increase of $250 per metric ton, while the same $250 per metric ton increase will apply to buyers across Latin America. In Asia, the adjustment will be higher, with prices rising by $500 per metric ton. Meanwhile, customers located in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region will experience a price increase of €450 per metric ton.

The company indicated that these changes are part of its broader efforts to sustain product quality, maintain reliable supply chains, and continue delivering value to customers worldwide. Price adjustments of this nature are often influenced by factors such as fluctuations in raw material costs, energy expenses, logistics challenges, and broader market dynamics affecting the specialty chemicals industry.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals reaffirmed that it remains focused on supporting its global customer base with high-performance products and dependable service. The company emphasized its ongoing commitment to innovation and quality across its portfolio of polyvinyl alcohol solutions.

The updated pricing will become effective April 1, 2026, although the exact timing may vary depending on existing customer agreements, contractual terms, and regional conditions.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals focuses primarily on the production of Selvol, a portfolio of high-performance polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH) polymers and copolymers widely used across multiple industrial sectors. These materials play an important role in applications such as paper processing, adhesives, flexible packaging, construction materials, personal care formulations, and a variety of other specialty chemical products that require reliable binding, film-forming, and performance characteristics.

Among its latest product developments is the Selvol Ultiloc copolymer series. This newer range expands the capabilities of the well-established Selvol portfolio by introducing additional functionality and improved performance attributes. The innovation is designed to support evolving market requirements and provide customers with more advanced formulation options while maintaining the trusted quality associated with the Selvol brand.

In addition to its polyvinyl alcohol technologies, the company also represents several specialized materials used in advanced manufacturing and formulation applications. These include Advancell expandable microspheres, which are commonly used to create lightweight structures, insulation, and surface effects in coatings and plastics, as well as S LEC BK polyvinyl acetal resins, which serve various industrial and specialty chemical uses.

Sekisui Specialty Chemicals operates as a subsidiary of the global Sekisui Chemical Group, a multibillion-dollar corporation with a strong international presence. The parent organization provides a diverse range of products, technologies, and services aimed at improving quality of life and supporting sustainable development.

The broader Sekisui Chemical Group structure is built around three major business segments: housing solutions, social infrastructure systems, and advanced chemical solutions. Through these integrated businesses, the group delivers innovative materials and technologies that support modern living, infrastructure development, and industrial progress worldwide.
