Solésence launched WHSPR™ and Chromalüm™ technologies, advancing skin health, sun protection, color cosmetics, and clinically supported beauty innovation.
Solésence, Inc., a prominent provider of scientifically-driven healthcare solutions across beauty and life science sectors, recently announced the commercial launch of two proprietary platform technologies: WHSPR™ and Chromalüm™. These innovations are designed to overcome longstanding formulation challenges within the health-infused beauty market, expanding the range of products capable of delivering significant skin health claims.
WHSPR™ is an advanced delivery system for allantoin, a well-recognized skin health ingredient on the OTC skin protectant monograph. This technology is patented globally and in the United States, enabling the stable use of high concentrations of allantoin in anhydrous product formats such as serums, balms, and face and lip oils, where stability and solubility issues previously limited its effective application. Clinical studies have demonstrated WHSPR™'s efficacy, showing statistically significant improvements in skin barrier recovery, barrier strength, hydration, and redness reduction. Specifically, studies indicated up to a 63% reduction in redness and up to a 36% improvement in skin barrier recovery at 48 hours, with 100% of panelists showing measurable improvements across key endpoints. By embedding WHSPR™ within its finished goods, Solésence empowers brand partners to make OTC skin health claims and develop sensitive skin-focused products across skincare, suncare, and color cosmetics categories.
The second technology, Chromalüm™, is a high-brilliance precision color technology engineered to work in conjunction with Solésence's patented Kleair™ technology. This integrated system allows for the seamless incorporation of broad-spectrum sun protection, including targeted high-energy visible (HEV) light protection in the 400 to 450 nanometer range, directly into color cosmetics without compromising color quality or aesthetic performance. Chromalüm™ supports both high-sheer and full-coverage formulations across diverse product formats, and is compatible with high-SPF and water-resistant formula development, extending its applicability to active and sport-oriented color cosmetic products.
The launch of WHSPR™ and Chromalüm™ is a direct response to the evolving consumer landscape, where the convergence of health, wellness, and beauty is reshaping expectations and creating substantial commercial opportunities for brands that can substantiate their claims. These technologies remove historical barriers, opening new product categories and formats for skin health innovation that were previously unachievable.
From an industry perspective, these launches significantly bolster Solésence's vertically integrated model, allowing brand partners to access breakthrough innovation, fully realized in finished goods, through a single manufacturing relationship. This approach provides partners with fully formulated, clinically supported, and commercially ready products that meet the aesthetic and sensorial profiles expected of premium daily-use cosmetics. The expansion into new categories, with potential future applications in hair and scalp care, represents a meaningful growth opportunity for Solésence and its partners. Economically, while Solésence has experienced a stock decline, the company reported a 40% increase in annual revenue in 2024, emphasizing strong customer partnerships and increasing demand for its innovative skin health solutions. These new technologies are poised to further drive this growth by catering to consumer demand for effective, inclusive, and aesthetically pleasing skin health products.
