As of mid-Jan 2025 in South Korea, the Polyolefin Elastomer (POE) Market showed signs of weakness due to fewer users' orders than expected. Demand for POE from end users' sectors kept POE orders for both sectors relatively constant, though at lower-than-normal levels. The number of export shipments also slowed as vehicle sales have decreased and industrial activity has slowed. There were still enough orders of POE to satisfy the normal demand. However, the buyer sentiment was weak, but the disciplined strategies of suppliers prevented supply disruptions.
The South Korean Polyolefin Elastomers (POE) market has seen a drop due to weak demand. Prices for POEs dropped due to a lack of demand from both domestic and international customers. While some auto manufacturers maintained their regular levels of POE purchasing from suppliers to manufacture trim and exterior parts, new car sales in December xxxx totalled xxx,xxx cars (-x.xx compared to the previous month), causing auto manufacturers to take a conservative approach with respect to their level of purchases.
Demand for construction-related products was also subdued with the Korea Federation of Industries reported a Building Supply Index (BSI) of xx.x for January xxxx indicating that contractors still have a negative outlook.
