Swedish Firm Enerpoly Gains $600K Grant from Vinnova for Zinc-Ion Battery Research

Enerpoly, a zinc-ion battery developer based in Sweden, has achieved a significant milestone by securing a two-year grant from Vinnova, the Swedish Governmental Agency for Innovation Systems. This grant, amounting to $600,000, represents a pivotal opportunity for Enerpoly to accelerate the industrialization and optimization of its groundbreaking zinc-ion battery technology. With this latest injection of funds, the total funding raised by the company has now reached $53,08,775.

The primary focus of the Vinnova grant is to facilitate advancements in the intricate industrial processes involved in the fabrication of electrodes for zinc-ion batteries. Enerpoly's objective is to significantly enhance the volume and efficiency of various electrode fabrication stages, with the aim of increasing their capacity by up to 50-fold while minimizing waste and scrap production.

Samer Nameer, Co-founder and Chief Science Officer (CSO) of Enerpoly, expressed the company's profound excitement and commitment to being at the forefront of accelerating the global transition toward renewable energy sources. As the demand for batteries continues to surge on a worldwide scale, the urgency for developing and adopting more sustainable and innovative battery solutions has never been more pressing. Nameer emphasized the transformative potential of the Vinnova grant, stating, "The Vinnova grant will help our team develop our technology and internal processes to meet the demands for a world powered by 100% clean energy."
