Borealis expands Tegral partnership into Southern and Western Europe, enhancing packaging distribution, sustainability integration, and advancing circularity in plastics industry.
Borealis has announced an important step forward in its European growth strategy through the expansion of its distribution partnership with Tegral Materials, a Vinmar company. This development strengthens Borealis’ commitment to providing advanced polyolefin packaging solutions and ensuring customers across Europe have broader access to its innovative product portfolio.
Earlier this year, Borealis entered into a strategic collaboration with Tegral Materials, appointing the company as its official distribution partner in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, and Germany. Building on the success of this initial phase, the partnership is now being extended to additional markets, including Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, and Ireland, effective September 1. This expansion significantly enhances Borealis’ presence in Southern and Western Europe, allowing it to serve customers more efficiently and responsively.
The enlarged partnership strengthens Borealis’ already established distribution network by complementing existing channels with Tegral’s regional expertise. Customers in the Flexible and Rigid Consumer Packaging sectors will benefit from improved service levels, faster response times, and more tailored solutions. Tegral will distribute Borealis’ comprehensive range of polyethylene (PE) and polypropylene (PP) products, enabling the company to meet rising demand for reliable, high-performance, and sustainable packaging materials in these regions.
At the core of this collaboration lies a shared focus on innovation, reliability, and sustainability. Borealis and Tegral Materials are working closely to align their strategies with global trends driving circularity and resource efficiency. As part of their joint long-term vision, both companies are preparing to integrate Borealis’ advanced product lines such as Bornewables™, Borcycle™ C, and Borcycle™ M into Tegral’s distribution portfolio.
These product families are central to Borealis’ sustainability roadmap. Bornewables™ harness renewable feedstocks to replace fossil-based inputs, Borcycle™ C leverages cutting-edge chemical recycling to repurpose polyolefins, and Borcycle™ M utilizes mechanical recycling technologies to give plastics a second life. Together, they exemplify Borealis’ ambition to push the plastics industry toward greater circularity and reduced environmental impact.
By leveraging Tegral’s localized market knowledge and customer relationships alongside Borealis’ broad infrastructure and innovation pipeline, the partnership is positioned to deliver greater value across multiple European regions. The extended collaboration also reinforces both companies’ role in accelerating the transition toward packaging solutions that combine performance, convenience, and reduced carbon footprint.
This expansion underscores Borealis’ strategy of working with strong, regionally embedded partners to bring its materials closer to end-users while supporting the industry’s shift to more responsible production and consumption practices. Ultimately, the collaboration between Borealis and Tegral Materials not only enhances customer service and market coverage but also contributes meaningfully to the broader goal of advancing sustainable plastic packaging solutions across Europe.
