UFlex Limited Launches India’s First Plant for Washing and Recycling of Post-Consumer Multi -Layer Plastic and PET Bottles Waste

UFlex Limited, a leading global player in Polymer Sciences recently commissioned India’s First plant for Washing and Recycling of Post-Consumer Multi -Layer Plastic and PET bottles waste in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. With the aim of strengthening its recycling capabilities and maintaining a truly circular plastic economy, UFlex has become the first and only company in the world to develop this innovative technique. In line with its global sustainability campaign ‘Project Plastic Fix’, UFlex recognizes its responsibility to the environment and is tenaciously striving to scale up its recycling strength. The plant will recycle Multi-layer Plastic Wastes (bags, rigs, bottles, wrappers etc.) into chips and granules using a simple technique followed by their processing into useful Industrial & Household Products such as flower pots, outdoor furniture, bucket, dustbins, paver tiles, road dividers etc. The plant’s PET Bottle Line has the capacity to recycle up to 600 tonnes of PET Bottle waste a month while the MLP Film Line a capacity to wash and recycle up to 500 tonnes of MLP waste in a month. With its recycling plants located in different locations across the globe, the company will now have the capacity to recycle more than 3000 MT of plastic waste a month. UFlex, which has its footprints in over 140 countries with manufacturing units at UAE, Mexico, Egypt, Poland and USA, is striving to increase its contribution in domestic packaging market and is aiming become a $2-billion company by FY20 in domestic as well as international markets.
