US Aniline Market Faces Modest Downside Risk Amid Softer Benzene Prices

Patrick Alexander 23-Jun-2026

Aniline prices in the United States moved higher during the first half of June 2026 as disciplined supplier pricing and steady downstream demand offset the impact of softer benzene costs. Demand remained concentrated in the polyurethane value chain, particularly for methylene diphenyl diisocyanate used in insulation and flexible foam applications, while automotive, construction, rubber chemicals, dyes, pharmaceuticals, and agrochemicals also provided steady support. On the supply side, import availability remained comfortable and no major production outages were reported, ensuring balanced market conditions. Although benzene weakened during June, Aniline suppliers limited the pass-through of lower feedstock costs to preserve margins, allowing prices to maintain an upward bias through mid-month. Looking ahead, the Aniline market is expected to face a modest downside bias in the second half of June and into July due to softer benzene, comfortable imports, and stable MDI production. However, seasonal restocking and stronger insulation demand later in Q3 could offer support.

Aniline prices in the United States moved higher through the first half of June **** as disciplined supplier pricing and steady downstream consumption outweighed softer benzene costs. Although early May trading was relatively calm, the market gained strength through late May and carried that momentum into June, supported by balanced spot liquidity and stable demand from core derivative chains. Import availability remained sufficient, preventing any acute shortage, but sellers were still able to maintain firmer offers as downstream consumers continued to absorb material at a steady pace. As a result, Aniline pricing retained an upward bias through mid-June even without a significant tightening in physical supply.

Demand for Aniline remained concentrated in the polyurethane value chain, which continues to dominate U.S. consumption patterns. According to ChemAnalyst data, most of domestic Aniline demand is tied to methylene diphenyl diisocyanate and related applications used in insulation...
