The US polyvinyl alcohol market remained broadly stable in late August 2026 after a sharp decline during July, as comfortable domestic supply and cautious downstream procurement offset firmer import economics. July prices had fallen 10.87% as softer vinyl acetate monomer costs and conservative purchasing weakened seller leverage. August brought a modest early recovery before values flattened as buyers and sellers awaited clearer signals for autumn demand.
