US PTFE Prices Fall 2.21% in Early August 2026 Amid Sufficient Supply and Easing Import Cost

William Shakespeare 12-Aug-2026
USA Fluoropolymers (PTFE) prices fell 2.21% in the first week of August 2026, as improved Asian availability and softer export offers weighed on the market. Chinese producers resumed operations after flood-related force-majeure disruptions in Zhejiang, restoring export availability and easing earlier supply concerns. Meanwhile, Asia-to-North America West Coast freight declined 8.34% week-on-week to USD 6,008/FEU for the week ending August 6, supporting a more comfortable US import position.

Supply conditions for PTFE improved as affected Chinese facilities restarted production and exporters returned with greater availability. The resumption of operations reduced prompt supply tightness and encouraged suppliers to compete more actively for US business. Although weather disruptions had previously constrained Chinese output, the recovery in production reduced concerns over prolonged shortages. Easing freight costs further supported PTFE import availability and gave US buyers greater flexibility in procurement decisions.

Demand for PTFE remained relatively resilient, supported by continued expansion in the semiconductor industry. Global semiconductor sales reached USD ***.* billion in the second quarter of ****, representing a **.** increase from the first quarter. June sales also rose *.** month-on-month to USD ***.* billion, while year-on-year growth reached ***.**.
