Usalco opens new California facility, boosting regional water treatment chemical supply, strengthening infrastructure support, and improving reliability for municipal industries.
Usalco, LLC, a prominent U.S.-based provider of advanced water treatment chemistries and performance-driven solutions, has officially inaugurated a new production facility in Rancho Cucamonga, California. The grand opening ceremony, held recently, marks a major milestone for the company as it continues to expand its operational footprint across the United States. This newly launched site becomes Usalco’s 27th manufacturing plant nationwide and represents a strategic investment aimed at improving access to essential water treatment chemicals across Southern California and surrounding regions.
The decision to establish this facility followed a comprehensive assessment of the water treatment requirements in Southern California. Despite being one of the most densely populated and infrastructure-intensive regions in the country, the area has long faced a shortage of reliable treatment chemistry providers. This gap has often resulted in logistical challenges, inconsistent supply, and limited technical support for municipal and industrial water operators. By introducing a local production hub, Usalco aims to address these persistent issues and strengthen the regional supply chain.
Ken Gayer, Chief Executive Officer of Usalco, highlighted the importance of the development, describing it as a key step in reinforcing the company’s long-term commitment to supporting water infrastructure across the Western United States. He emphasized that localized manufacturing capabilities are critical in ensuring dependable supply, particularly in regions grappling with water scarcity and increasingly complex contaminant removal demands. The new facility is expected to enhance Usalco’s ability to respond effectively to these challenges.
The Rancho Cucamonga plant specializes in the production and distribution of high-performance coagulants and tailored water treatment solutions. These offerings are designed to complement the company’s existing operations in Modesto, California, thereby strengthening its overall manufacturing network within the state. The addition of this facility significantly boosts Usalco’s production capacity and positions it to better serve a diverse range of customers.
Terry Waldo, Chief Commercial Officer, noted that situating advanced treatment solutions closer to end users allows customers to achieve improved operational efficiency and better treatment outcomes. By combining local production with technical expertise, the company aims to provide utilities and industrial clients with both reliable supply and enhanced performance.
Construction of the facility began in September 2025 and involved an investment of approximately $17 million. The site will employ a team of six skilled professionals specializing in chemical production and logistics. It will function as a regional supply hub, supporting municipal and industrial clients throughout Southern California and nearby states.
Jason James, Chief Operating Officer, underscored that the project strengthens Usalco’s western manufacturing network and enhances its responsiveness to customer needs. He also commended the team for delivering the project while maintaining the high operational standards expected by clients. The inauguration event was attended by local officials, customers, partners, media representatives, and employees from across the country, reflecting the significance of this expansion for both the company and the broader water treatment sector.
