Wanhua Chemical Battery Technology Co., Ltd. and ElevenEs, a prominent European manufacturer of lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries, have entered into a strategic partnership aimed at advancing the localization of the battery materials supply chain in Europe. The two companies recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) during a formal ceremony held in Meishan, Sichuan. The event was attended by Wang Xiaoxing, general manager of Wanhua Chemical Battery Technology, and Nemanja Mikac, founder and CEO of ElevenEs.

The agreement marks a significant milestone in the development of a collaborative framework between the two companies, focusing on the co-development and supply of key battery materials. These include LFP cathode materials, polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) binders, and N-methyl-2-pyrrolidone (NMP) solvents, all essential for manufacturing high-performance lithium-ion batteries.

Under the terms of the agreement, Wanhua Chemical and ElevenEs will establish a joint technical team to facilitate the exchange of technical and market insights. The collaboration is designed to accelerate product innovation and market entry, with Wanhua Chemical leveraging its global production capabilities and supply chain network to support ElevenEs’ manufacturing operations in Serbia.

Wanhua Chemical has a strong foundation in battery material development, built upon decades of experience in process engineering and industrial research. The company has developed an integrated platform for battery cell application technology, cathode and anode material innovation, and the production of high-quality binders and solvents.

“This strategic collaboration with ElevenEs represents an important step in Wanhua Chemical’s mission to establish a localized battery materials supply chain in Europe,” said Wang Xiaoxing. “We will apply our strengths in research and development, production, and global logistics to deliver high-performance LFP cathode materials and comprehensive solutions to support the European new energy transition.”

Nemanja Mikac echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the value of the partnership in strengthening supply security and enhancing innovation. “Wanhua Chemical’s deep expertise and international production infrastructure will be instrumental in helping ElevenEs achieve our supply chain localization goals,” he said. “Together, we will drive forward technical advancements and deliver competitive LFP battery solutions to the European market.”

Looking ahead, Wanhua Chemical and ElevenEs plan to deepen their cooperation in strategic sectors such as electric vehicles and energy storage systems. The partners intend to expand their collaboration across the entire battery materials value chain, including product development, market expansion, and technical innovation. This partnership reinforces both companies’ commitment to building a sustainable and resilient new energy industry in Europe and beyond.
