Product Description
Coconut Diethanolamide (CDEA), also known as Cocamide DEA, is a non-ionic surfactant produced from coconut oil–derived fatty acids reacted with diethanolamine, appearing as a viscous, pale yellow liquid with excellent foaming, emulsifying, and thickening properties. Owing to its amphiphilic structure, it is widely used across downstream industries such as FMCG, personal care, and household cleaning, where it functions as a foam booster, viscosity modifier, and stabilizer in shampoos, body washes, liquid soaps, dishwashing liquids, and laundry detergents. Beyond consumer products, Coconut Diethanolamide also finds application in industrial cleaners, textile processing chemicals, metalworking fluids, leather treatment formulations, and antistatic agents for plastics, supporting wetting, dispersion, and emulsification performance. Industrial manufacturing typically involves a controlled condensation reaction between refined coconut fatty acids (or methyl esters) and diethanolamine at elevated temperatures, followed by neutralization and purification to achieve desired active content and low free amine levels.
